I received this e-mail below from a participant at one of my workshops........
Dear Todd:
Thank you so much for the workshop at Lakeland recently and for the follow up email. I had had such a rough day with an interview downtown that I almost talked myself out of coming to the workshop. Thats been a specialty of mine, giving up the positive because of a temporary setback, but luckily
I am trying to change those negative habits. Anyway, your exercises really helped me. For example, I was
able to put on paper that what really means the most to me is helping others. All my passions, talents,values, and intuitions centered around
peace, joy, caring and strength etc. I came to the realization that I don't need to push myself to reenter the corporate environment.
I'm grateful for this time to refocus and you really helped me. I realized that I would really like to work in a healthcare environment which would allow me to fulfill my purpose. Ironically, once I began to concentrate on that area and see what opportunities were possible, I received a call from a hospital, where I had sent in a resume over a month ago. The position as secretary to the President was still open and I had been selected out of the 200 resumes they had received. Just this week I went for my second interview and I've never felt so calm and relaxed at an interview in my life. I also was able to express to them where I am at in my life and how working in this environment, being a part of something that is making a difference in people's lives, plus the fact that I recently became Catholic
and am very enthusiastic about my new faith (The hospital that called me back is a Catholic hospital)
- I definitely feel that you helped me to determine what direction I should take and I'm feeling very good about this. Even if I do not get the job, it was an incredible experience in many ways and I know I can
continue to pursue fulfilling my purpose instead of forcing myself into the
same "dog-eat-dog" environment that is against what I stand for.
I can't thank you enough. I'm grateful that the experiences in your life
allowed you to create these workshops and share your insights with us.
